Child, Family, and Community
Counselling

Supporting children, families, and community to thrive!

Hi, I'm Lisa

Meet Lisa

“It’s time for support that speaks your language"

When a child or young person is struggling, the whole family can feel the impact.

Parents may feel worried, unsure, exhausted, or unsure where to turn while children and young people may not always have the words to explain what they are feeling.

At Harmony & Health, I work alongside children, young people, parents, carers, families, schools, and community services to provide calm, practical, safe, and trauma-informed support. My approach is warm, grounded, and evidence-informed, helping children and young people feel safe, understood, and supported while helping families feel more confident, connected, and equipped to move forward.

With over 20 years of experience across healthcare, mental health, child and family health, education, emergency services, and complex frontline environments, I bring a deep understanding of children, families, and the systems that surround them.

I am a Provisional Psychologist with a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Masters degree in Nursing, and postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health and Tertiary Education. My experience has taught me that no two people are the same and every situation is unique.

Support begins with listening, understanding, and working together, without judgement.

I have worked across many environments, from emergency and healthcare, to schools,

in homes, and within community settings. Not much shakes me.

Allow me to be there for you when you need it, without worry.

How We Support People

  • Trauma-informed Therapy: Many people experiencing trauma symptoms don't actually identify with the word "trauma".

    • Do you feel constantly 'on edge' even when you're safe?

    • Does your body react to stress before your mind even knows why?

    • What are your survival habits after an incident or ongoing event?

  • Grief and Loss: Navigating loss - Loss of a loved one, friend, school, identity, colleagues, teams, familiar environments, and/or change.  When children or families face loss, change, or uncertainty, emotions can show up in many ways. Care focuses on healing, resilience, and safely journeying through stages to restore wellbeing and develop a healthy relationship with the environment. Because loss is not always visible, healing begins with feeling understood.

  • Challenges in Coping: Because 'just relax' is the least helpful advice you’ve ever heard.

    • Are you actually coping, or are you just getting used to being overwhelmed?

    • When 'just getting through the day' starts taking everything you’ve got and feels like a full-time job.

  • The Physical Side of Stress: Learn how sleep, gut health, and nerves impact your mental wellbeing. Explore trauma-informed strategies for nervous system regulation and stress relief at Harmony & Health Counselling and Wellness.

    • Learn how to help Physical Stress Symptoms, including 'The shift work challenge".
